Certified Labor & Postpartum Doula
Baltimore, Maryland
Hi! My name is Sydney, I am from Annapolis, Maryland, and call Baltimore City my home!
I started my doula work about 7 years ago as a birth doula with the Philadelphia Alliance for Labor Support (PALS) and as an abortion doula with the Baltimore Doula Project. While in Philly, I attended school at Temple University during the day, and was on call for births at HUP at night. I did this for about four years and supported over 50+ birthing people who wouldn’t have had access to doula support otherwise. In 2022, I became a certified full-spectrum doula through Cornerstone Birthwork, and started taking my own birth and postpartum clients independently in the Philadelphia area. While in Philly, I started my midwifery training with MCU and shadowed local Philadelphia midwives. Through this training, I gained valuable experience in normal birth processes and also took many courses that have been further supported my doula knowledge. In 2023, I moved to New York where I would put an increased emphasis on postpartum and lactation support and in 2024, officially moved back to Maryland.
I currently work Independently providing in-person support, remote support, and as a travel doula, providing birth and postpartum support for families in Baltimore City and beyond. I embrace the overall diversity of my work and experiences as something that has made me a very well-rounded doula. One of the most important things to me as a birth worker is autonomous care.
Outside of my studies, I am a very passionate and outspoken advocate for sexual and reproductive health education, accessibility, sexworker rights, and human rights. In my free time I love to sew, knit, paint, thrift, go to social events, swim, and enjoy nature.
