Certified Labor & Postpartum Doula

Baltimore, Maryland

Hi! My name is Sydney and I call Baltimore City my home!

I started my doula work about 7 years ago as a birth doula with the Philadelphia Alliance for Labor Support (PALS) and as an abortion doula with the Baltimore Doula Project. While in Philly, I attended Temple University during the day and was on call for births at HUP at night. I did this for about four years and supported over 50+ birthing people who wouldn’t have had access to doula support otherwise. In 2022, I became a certified full-spectrum doula through Cornerstone Birthwork and started taking my own birth and postpartum clients independently in the Philadelphia area. While still in Philly, I started my midwifery training with MCU and shadowed local Philadelphia midwives. Through this training, I gained valuable experience in various birth processes and situations and completed numerous courses that further supported my knowledge as a doula. In 2023, I moved to New York, where I would place an increased focus on postpartum and lactation support. In 2024, I officially moved back to Maryland.

I currently work independently, providing in-person support, remote support, and as a travel doula, providing birth and postpartum support for families in Baltimore City and beyond. I embrace the overall diversity of my experiences as something that has made me a well-rounded doula. One of the most important things to me as a doula for my clients is autonomy and the confidence to self-advocate.

Outside of my studies, I am a very passionate and outspoken advocate for sexual and reproductive health education, accessibility, sex worker rights, and human rights. In my free time, I love to sew, knit, paint, thrift, go to social events, swim, and enjoy nature.
